An antidiabetic drug. A thiazolidinedione (TDZ) type of antihyperglycemic agent. It displays antihyperglycemic activity in genetically obese C57 Bl/6 ob/ob mice and is a selective PPARɣ agonist (EC₅₀ = 3 µM).
