A purine nucleoside antimetabolite that displays anticancer activity. Clofarabine displays potent inhibitory effects on both ribonucleotide reductase and DNA polymerase. Used in pediatrics to treat a type of blood cancer called acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
