Cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (cdk2) inhibitor; induces cell-cycle arrest at the G2-M phase. 10- to 36-fold more selective for cdk2-cyclin A over other cdks (IC50 = 0.41 μM for cdk2-cyclin A). Potentiates the apoptotic effect of Taxol (Cat. No. 1097) in HeLa cells; down-regulates the anti-apoptotic protein survivin.
